Anke Schofield was born in Ithaca, New York in 1972 and was an apprentice assistant of a professional photographer when she was a baby. Her father introduced her even as a child to the wonders of the camera and she took the matter promptly and enthusiastically. During high school, she was able to learn a lot with a group of artists in the New York area. She obtained a scholarship at Savannah College of Art and Design where she graduated. Throughout this period, Anke concentrated her studies on color theory and painting, continuing to find these efforts greater creative stimulus and inspiration.
