Pier Enrico Guzzi was born in Savigliano (Cuneo). He started his studies in Piedmont and only after high school, he moved to Rome to study set design. Since 1970 is divided between the stage and a deep search for deepening the painting technique. In 1971 decided to leave the scene for painting and began exhibiting in Italy and abroad. He attended special courses on the middle ages and early Renaissance, and the technique of fresco by Piero della Francesca. It is precisely as a result of a careful study of the fresco that develops its own painting technique. Guzzi set the table stretching out lime and plaster and render it out smooth and uniform, it starts to spread over coloured mineral pigments, which must dry and overlap in multiple layers. This technique gives an exceptional three-dimension and depth to the image. If the technique it is necessary to look to the past, his style is considered surrealist.

He died in 2018.
