BARATTA LUIGI

Luigi Baratta, born in Turin in 1951 and graduated in medicine in 1977, during university cultivates his expressive desire making numerous visits abroad and in Italy visiting museums and art galleries, refining the knowledge of pictorial favorite artists. He concentrates on the effect of light, taking inspiration from some Flemish artists like Vermeer and Rembrandt, whereas the deep perspective in his work reflects the influence of Renaissance. His brushstrokes are firm, the colors are vibrant and whether he paints urban scenes or still life, you feel like whatever appears on the canvas comes to life. The themes are diverse; the first exhibitions focused on industrial interiors and was “The Flemish Dutch light” to draw the routes of the eye, the wanderings of reminiscences, playing with thin, enigmatic and persuasive shadows.
