CATTANEO ALVARO

Alvaro was born in Milan in 1937. He attended painting courses at Brera, and then devoted himself to those of nude at the high school of art from the Castle. Alvaro is the only living painter whose Palazzo Reale in Milan has dedicated a staff (in year 2000). Bicycles with their shadows, portals and flowered sills are among his favorite subjects. A perfect harmony of colours and the use of the spatula, creating an atmosphere of serenity and joy. In each composition by warm, he exalts a formal nature stop over time, a metaphysical reality of Blues, yellows, reds, greys and Greens. The thin tip of the spatula collects endless monochrome notches. The shadow seems to coat and threaten the light that reveals and protects large monochromatic notches an asphalt perspective taken from above.
