Antonio Cargnel was born in Valsolda in 1946. He grew up learning from his father, Lucio Cargnel and his grandfather Vittore Antonio Cargnel, very renown artists who introduced him to his artistic career. After graduating from University of architecture, he kept following his artistic inclination. His views of Milan with its characteristic trams or the Duomo, the landscape of the lakes in Northern Italy, as the seaside corners of the Ligurian Riviera like Portofino, are very distinctive. He often uses the pallete-knife. His technique is oil on canvas. The artist currently lives and works in Milan.
